I don't know what it is about the beach, but I find myself around the sandy ocean almost every weekend. It's my special place where I can relax and let go of any worries I had during the week.
My worries seem little and insignificant by simply gazing through the waves of the ocean.
I took full advantage of the beautiful weather this past weekend when I took a drive down to Ventura Harbor. I was itching to get on one of those boats where you paddle your way to the harbor - I think it's called a water wheeler- so that's exactly what I did.
Everything about the harbor was perfect - except for one tiny part.
All I have to say is never go up to a sea lion. They look really cute and friendly from the outside, but they're hostile and evil from the inside. I will also add that I almost jumped off the water wheeler thing because I thought I was going to get attacked.
But other than that Ventura was great!
On Sunday I took a drive up to Malibu and visited one of the most beautiful beaches in Southern California. If you've never been to El Matador beach, I strongly recommend you go!
The stunning rock formations, small caves, gorgeous sunset view and intimate setting is nothing I've ever seen in other beaches. But what I love about El Matador the most is that it's not super crowded like in Santa Monica where you can't even find a place to lay around.
It was the perfect weekend for sure.
